The team at the Colonoscopy Day Case Unit at Omagh Primary Care are a prime example of everything good about the NHS. From the first minute I entered the facility until I left I felt heard and was treated with the utmost respect and care by every member of the team.
I was involved and kept informed in all decisions every step of the way and they were extremely considerate of the fact that I was feeling slightly nervous about the procedure.
The unit was exceptionally clean and I felt extremely comfortable in the setting, in both the reception area, recovery and the treatment area.
Every step of my procedure, from the first introductions of each team member who told me their name and their role in the procedure and allowed me to feel heard, to explaining every step of the process and the after care was exceptional - you are extremely blessed to have such a gifted, caring team working in the NHS who are extremely skilled in what they do while still possessing empathy for their patients and working with a positive attitude in what I can only imagine is quite a stressful environment a lot of the time.
Every member of the team that supported me through my procedure had a great attitude and a real teamwork ethic - everyone knew what their responsibilities were and you could feel that they all work well together and supported each other magnificently.
A special word of thanks to Marie-Therese and Niamh in recovery who patiently listened to me after the procedure when all I wanted to do was get home and have some food.
Thank you to everyone on the team - you truly are exceptional people who are a credit to the NHS and everything that a caring profession should be.
"You truly are exceptional people"
