"I certainly felt some improvement in my lower back"

About: Outpatients Department / Complementary Therapy

(as a service user),

I recently received  complimentary treatment in the form of full back massage and reiki.

This was suggested to help with back pain that I have suffered from on and off for almost 40 years. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease about 4 years ago and I have been attending a Parkinson's exercise class at St Andrews Hospice in Airdrie.

It was from this that was referred for the back massage, etc. This lasted for 4 weeks and I certainly felt some improvement in my lower back and decreased anxiety, I even had a couple of consecutive days being pain free. I can't highlight the Hospice staff high enough, the service provided is very good and I would recommend the service to anyone who suffer back pain.

I am a man in my mid 60s, and I also suffer from atrial fibrillation and high blood pressure.
