I noticed a change in my vision in the right eye but thought I was just tired, I noticed after a while it got worse and was bothering me so I went to my opticians who informed me I had a detached retina and I was sent to hospital. I ended up going to the Royal Hallamshire hospital (Vitreoretinal Surgery Service) a hospital and a place I've never been to.
I suffer from terrible anxiety and other problems and was struggling to cope with all that was going on, however the staff were absolutely amazing checking on me and talking to me to make sure I was ok, I had to have Lazer treatment on one eye and surgery on my right eye which was a lot for me but staff were always at hand and even though it was really late in the day they got me into surgery for the detached retina and again the surgery staff were brilliant.
I can't thank the nurses, surgery staff and reception staff enough for the care and support I received especially from the nurses who recognised I was in a bit of a state and checked on me and spoke to me, you all went above and beyond.
Thank you all so much for your care and support.
