"I left feeling upset and unheard"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was kept waiting for around 1 hour and 50 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, with no clear updates about the delay.

When I was finally seen, the consultation felt very rushed. I felt that my concerns were dismissed, and the physical examination—which was intimate and quite intrusive—was not explained to me properly beforehand. I wasn’t given time to ask questions or feel reassured, and I left feeling upset and unheard.

After the exam, I was left feeling upset and even a bit silly for raising my concerns, even though I know I’m not — I have a serious condition that deserves to be taken seriously.

I would really appreciate clearer communication, more sensitivity during intimate examinations, and enough time to ask questions and feel reassured in future appointments.
