"I hope my Mum never needs to return"

About: Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

Heard a member of staff speak to my Mum like dirt. I have never been so angry and sad. My Mum had been in with severe breathing difficulties and was given medication to help calm her breathing and get some sleep because of this she had been pretty much out cold for 6 hours and was wakened at half past 9 at night when I phoned the ward to ask the staff to let me speak to her. She then told me she was really thirsty and had a cold cup of tea at the side of her bed but it was cold. I told her to ask someone to make her a cup of tea. She then politely asked a member of staff walking passed her room if she could have a cup of tea to which she was told she has had one and it's their fault she had been sleeping and it went cold. My Mum then explained she had been given medication to help her relax and has been sleeping for hours she was then told they have 20 patients to put to bed and will get water.

I have never been so angry to hear any one speak to My Mum like that. I am pretty sure they had 2 minutes to go to the kitchen to get her a warm cup of tea. I hope my Mum never needs to return to ward 54 again.
