"Low standard of care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

Some staff I saw are questionable due to their attitude towards patients and their professional abilities in their role.

The standard of care and cleanliness is very low with this ward, surge unit, not even being cleaned one day, beds not changed, urine on the floor, I know it’s urine due to my catheter leaking this has not been cleaned. Told a staff member sat at a desk on their phone even though there were plenty for them to do. Then one staff member has ate the toast meant for the patients, another staff member slagging off patients. I find this absolutely disgusting knowing the standards of care that should be provided.

Dear monocerosbs58,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Trauma Assessment Unit.

I am sorry to hear of the disappointing experience you have had. This is not the standard of care that I would expect from our staff and I am sorry that you have experienced this.

Please could I ask that you contact patient affairs on the below email address so they can fully investigate this and provide you with a personal response?

patientaffairs@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Best Wishes,

Jenni
