"Sons visit to A&E"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My 22 year old son fractured his collarbone in a tackle at football. I have to say, the care he received was great! Firstly a trip to MIU in Arbroath where he was initially assessed. It was then decided he would need seen at A&E at Ninewells for X-ray and further treatment.

He was seen with very little delay. All the staff were so kind. Fully explaining everything to him and arranging pain relief and follow up care.

Dear Shxsurgery

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion about your recent visit to the Minor Injuries Unit at Arbroath Infirmary

I am sorry to hear your 22 year old son fractured his collarbone during a tackle at football and required to be assessed initially in the Minor Injuries Unit and then further assessment for imaging at Ninewells Hospital.

I am delighted he was seen with very little delay with staff providing explanation regarding each step of his care.

I will ensure the nursing team in Minor Injuries are made aware of your kind comments and wish your son a speedy recovery hoping he can return to football soon.

Best Wishes

Rhianne Roberts
