My dad was an inpatient in ward 6 of Glasgow Royal Infirmary, suffering from pneumonia that ultimately and sadly, claimed his life.
I want to say a massive thank you to all staff on the ward who were involved in caring for my dad. They were consistently very friendly, compassionate, friendly and professional. They delivered an amazing care package right from the outset. I cannot fault a single aspect.
These staff work so hard despite very tight resources. They deserve the upmost praise and I request that they be commended for their efforts. They worked so hard to make my dad's final days comfortable and they did this superbly….my dad loved a bit of banter and a laugh…they all engaged fully and I am eternally grateful for what they have done….truly angels of society in my view!
I am so saddened that in the initial days of my dad's stay, my mum and sister got stuck in one of the 2 elevators serving the medical building. A month later this lift remains inoperable leaving that wing with just one lift to serve patients, visitors, catering and porters…..really???? In this day and age???? That disturbs me profoundly!
Alas though, this feedback is on the staff and, again, I will be eternally grateful for all that they did. They made my dad very comfortable and at the end, they were so very compassionate and respectful. If I won the lottery, they would be so very handsomely rewarded.
Thank you for all that you do Ward 6 🙏
