"So grateful for their skill and thoughtfulness"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Outpatient Department

(as a carer),

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the care we received from the nurses at the Royal Children's Hospital Outpatient Unit for my son's blood test.

From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere put us at ease. The nurses were incredibly kind and attentive to my son. I had been dreading the injection, worried about the pain and his potential distress. However, the experience was surprisingly comfortable and virtually pain-free for him, thanks to the nurses' superb professionalism and brilliant distraction technique.

One nurse expertly engaged my son's attention by giving him a colorful piece of paper and directing him to focus on it. While his attention was fully captured, a second, super professional nurse administered the injection. He didn't feel a thing!

We are so grateful for their skill and thoughtfulness. Their ability to turn a potentially scary moment into a positive one is a testament to the high quality of care provided by the entire outpatient nursing team.
