"Lymphoma treatment rehab"

About: Ottery St Mary Hospital / Therapies Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Haematology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with lymphoma Nov 2024 and started treatment almost straight away with my first chemotherapy in December.  Five more sessions followed over the next few months leaving my body a fragile shadow of what it had once been.

The care I received from RDE Haematology carers from the Drs to the volunteers providing tea has been absolutely first class - showing the very best of the NHS.

Physiotherapy was offered as part of my after care and I started seeing seeing Rebecca at the Ottery hospital in the early summer. She was caring , knowledgeable and encouraging. During our sessions together and through her providing exercise routines to do at home, I gradually built strength again. Our last session was towards the end of October 2025 when she pronounced me fit enough to return to gym work to continue my rehab.

For anyone recovering from chemo , I wouldn't hesitate to recommend accepting this service . Not only for the physical improvement it gives , but also for the support leading to improvements in confidence and personal ability.

Dear Another Chance,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. Our staff work hard to provide compassionate and professional care and we're delighted to hear this was reflected in your experience. It's great to know that your physiotherapy sessions with Rebecca were so beneficial and that you are now able to return to the gym to continue your rehabilitation. Your feedback will be shared with Rebecca and the rest of the team, who will be very pleased to receive them.

We wish you all the best in your continued recovery.

Best wishes, Clare.
