We went to Southampton General Children A&E after calling 111 to report high fever of our 16 month old daughter.
Upon arrival (midnight mid October) the waiting room was empty and we expected to be seen and processed quickly.
We were taking into the ward and were left waiting for over 3 hours with little to no communication from the 10 plus staff on duty during the night shift. Staff members kept saying they are going on breaks and did not attend to our daughter in a timely fashion and attend to her fever.
We chose to leave at 3am due to poor service and little regard for our childs condition or wellbeing.
When leaving the staff members suddenly tried to provide care to us but didn't even know why we were in the ward?! To me the levels of unprofessionalism and laziness was unbelievable to see. It was very disappointing to see the level of service.
I will be avoiding going to this A&E in future for my daughter because I have little confidence in the staff members we saw.
