"A credit to their profession"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology Western General Hospital / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with Hodgsons Lymphoma by pure accident. I was taken to St John's hospital in Livingston with a heart problem and my breathing was very bad and as such I  was given a ct scan thinking I had a blood clot somewhere. To my surprise they found enlarged lymph nodes, and after all the tests it turned out I had lymphoma cancer.

To say I was shocked is an understatement. I needed 15 fractions of radiotherapy at the General Western hospital in Edinburgh where I travelled from my home 5 days a week.

From the moment I got there the car parking staff were excellent and very considerate, helping me in any way they could. The nursing staff were also  brilliant and again very helpful and took their time to explain everything to me as to what to expect during my treatment and after I got home. I can't thank all the staff at the cancer centre in Western general hospital enough, they were brilliant and a credit to their profession.
