"Can’t thank the staff enough for a fantastic experience!"

We had a fabulous experience with the team at Wishaw general, even before we had the baby, the midwives were very understanding and did not push me to go for a natural birth when I wanted an elective c-section. 

Starting off with the glucose test, the nurse I had was great however I do wish she would have just let me had this done via bloods instead of drinking the fluids as I did explain that I have the gastric sleeve so I can’t tolerate that amount of liquid at once and hadn’t even made it out of the hospital without being sick however they were sympathetic when I went back in. 

My waters had went spontaneously during the night at 37+6, called triage and they asked me to attend labour ward asap (due to having elective section). The nurses were absolutely amazing with me, made me feel so comfortable, I got moved to a ward where I got ready for theatre although due to emergencies, I did wait several hours but I got to choose my baby’s hat

The theatre staff were also fantastic, so nice and made me feel comfortable during the injections and the procedure, the only thing I would say is that I would have loved to have chosen my music but that’s minor. 

Maternity ward nurses were outstanding, they helped me so much and also clocked that my baby was breathing too fast and urgently referred him to the nicu where he only thankfully spent a few hours in and then was back with me, we did get a bit of a fright when we seen him with all of the cables
