I was referred to NHS Fife National Treatment Centre for hip replacement surgery by my own board NHS Lothian. This was after being on the waiting list for around 18 months. The treatment I received was excellent from the consultants, registrar, nurses and anaesthetists including at pre-assessments. I was able to return home on the same day as my surgery.
The nurse team were very reassuring and friendly throughout and I was seen by a physiotherapist and occupational therapist for advance on exercises and everyday movements. An advanced nurse practitioner discussed my medicines which I was given home with me .
Instructions were clear and care was very efficient. The facilities and wards were very spacious, relaxing and comfortable by some NHS standards. I would highly commend NHS Fife NTC team for the care they provide.
"The treatment I received was excellent"
