"Outstanding care"

My partner and I attended the Emergency Department at the Royal recently because I was having palpitations and we were very worried about our baby.

The wait was long, as to be expected when so many people need help, but it was absolutely worth it once we were seen by our doctor, Haydee. From the moment we met her, she made us feel calm and cared for. She was strong, kind, and reassuring — exactly the type of doctor you hope to see when you’re frightened.

She was thorough, efficient, and also had a lovely, upbeat nature that made a scary situation feel much less daunting. As an expectant mother, I felt truly safe and looked after.

To my surprise, she even called a few days later to check how I and the baby were doing — an incredible gesture that meant so much to us. Doctors like Haydee are the reason I believe in our health service.
