"Adapting techniques to fit my son"

About: St John's Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

My son has been under the care of the wonderful Caitlin at St John’s hospital for the past couple of years. He was very anxious at his first few appointments, struggling to understand the process of the visits and having to adapt to wearing glasses. 

Caitlin worked so hard with him, making him feel comfortable and adapting techniques to fit my son. She has always been calm, explaining every step to him and taking extra time to make sure he got the best possible outcome. 

Two years on and he is now close to being discharged from the unit. Caitlin’s excellent expertise have got us here and to a place where he is confident in appointments and happily will have his checks done without issue.

I'm glad Caitlin was able to respond to your daughters needs and as a result your daughter is comfortable and happily able to engage in ongoing checks.
