"I felt so well looked after"

I was registered with the Emerald Team at my 12-week booking in appointment at CAH, at this appointment I met Sarah and Vicky. My dating scan was done by Sarah and every appointment I had right up to my due date was with Sarah. Having someone I became so used to seeing and friendly with enabled me to feel comfortable asking all the questions that come with pregnancy and labour and delivery.

All my questions were answered and alleviated any concerns and worries I had while informing me of all the options and knowledge needed as I progressed through my pregnancy.

Outside of regular appointments, Sarah was always only a whatsapp message away, fab support from Sarah always. I can’t express enough how reassured and looked after I felt throughout my pregnancy.

Vicky was amazing too, offering reflexology and preparing some essential oils for me, some fab little treats that make the world of difference while in third trimester!

When I went into labour and while in MLU I was told one of the team would be coming on shift soon, this was a great relief as I knew the rest of the team were somewhat informed of how I was getting on throughout my pregnancy.

Gillian arrived while I was fairly into my labouring and delivered my baby boy. She was fantastic in her advice and aftercare, again, I felt so well looked after.

Having Sarah, Vicky and Gillian all visit as part of the at home calls after discharge from CAH to check on baby and me was great, truly encompassing the positive feeling of continuity as intended.

Overall, a great experience and one I am thankful for.
