"They were compassionate and thoughtful"

About: Enhanced Care / Acute Care at Home Newry and South Armagh / District Nursing

(as a relative),

In July 2025 my father in law received excellent care from the Southern Trust acute care at home team until he required palliative and end of life care. His wish was to remain at home and this was supported by the district nursing team based at Crossmaglen Health Centre. Each one of them who cared for him were compassionate and thoughtful and supported the family at the same time.

They assessed and managed his symptoms, kept him comfortable and replenished his syringe pump and were even with him as he took his last breath. The family wish to thank all the team but particularly Rebecca and Ann for their kindness and support during this really difficult time in their lives.

Hi paprikazk74,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback at this difficult time.

Please accept my sincere condolences to you and the entire family on the passing of your father in law.

I am so reassured that the Acute Care at Home, Hospital at Home Service were able to treat your father in law at home prior to him reaching the palliative stage. I am also delighted that there was a smooth transition to the attentive District Nursing Team in Crossmaglen for this stage.

I will be sure to share your kind words with the entire team.

Many thanks Yvonne
