My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2020, but had been showing signs of the disease much earlier. In both 2023, and 2024, she had to be admitted to your hospital with chest infections. The treatment, and care she received both times was first class, and she returned home in good physical health.
Unfortunately, last month her condition deteriorated, she became unresponsive, to such an extent that paramedics had to be called. She was successfully revived, and then I was given a choice, either have her removed to hospital, or have Hospital at Home put in place. I opted for the latter, and Dr. Steel and her team attended. Although ultimately we were all aware that the end was near, the care afforded by your team was excellent. Not only in the aspect of nursing care, but the compassion shown by the doctor, and the nurses, was exceptional. Despite their best efforts my wife passed in September, but at least it was a peaceful death, in her sleep, and in her own home.
So in finality, I wish to thank in general, the whole of the S.N.H.S, but in particular, Monklands Hospital, and in particular, Doctor Steel, and her Hospital at Home team, who did a wonderful job of caring for my late wife. My grateful thanks at a difficult time.
"The care provided to my late wife - my grateful thanks"
