Late September I was admitted into the Borders General Hospital early morning to remove my balloon and break my waters. After 2 hours, I had only dilated 1 cm so I was put on a drip to speed things up.
Nicole (midwife) looked after me the whole time. She was amazing and determined to help deliver my baby before her shift ended that evening.
After Nicole finished another great midwife took over, Clare. Clare checked my cervix over and over and there was half a centimetre that wouldn't dilate, so she decided to call a doctor to check me. After the doctor checked me they decided that an emergency caesarean was required to deliver my baby girl safely.
I want to thank every member of the theatre team that night for delivering my baby safely and for looking after me.
The following morning I was also looked after by another midwife, Cammy, in the labour ward, she was also fantastic.
Midmorning I was transferred to Ward 16, where Morag took care of me, another amazing midwife. She helped me breastfeed and guided me with some amazing tips.
I will always be thankful to these wonderful people and outstanding professionals!
