"My mothers care"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Daisy Hill Hospital / Older People Assessment Unit Enhanced Care / Acute Care at Home

(as a service user),

I am one of 10 children… my Mum is 90 and lives independently with help from her children and Domiciliary Care.

Mum was feeling faint and dizzy and we were worried that she might fall. She was taken into Daisy Hill A&E, where she was beautifully looked after by Dr Ciaran and team.

We were very concerned that she would loose her walking ability, as this had happened 6 months previously, in hospital.

Acute Care at Home was provided for Mum. This shortened her time in hospital and ensured that she maintained her walking ability … therefore her ability to live independently at home.

I appreciate Acute Care at Home so much … no words can cover it.

Thank you
