"I felt so much more relaxed"

About: Interface Division / Virtual Ward University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Following a recent visit to A and E at Monklands Hospital I was referred to a Consultant Surgeon who wanted to carry out further tests.

I was advised that I would be in a ‘virtual ward’ which meant I could go home and monitored by the virtual team using DOCCLA equipment which sent my daily stats to the team.  The further tests were an ultrasound and MRI which were carried out within two weeks as it would have been done while in a hospital ward.  I have now been discharged with follow up in 3 months.

The Consultant who gave me the results of the scan (I presume Radiologist) and staff in the virtual ward were fantastic and very reassuring.

I felt so much more relaxed being in my home environment.

Dear julietfm56,

I am sorry to hear that you recently had to attend the A&E department at University Hospital Monklands.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience as a patient on the Virtual Ward.

I am glad to hear you found this to be a positive experience and felt more relaxed being cared for at home.

I will share your feedback with the Virtual Ward Team.

Wishing you a smooth and continued recovery.

Kind regards,

Laura
