Following sharp chest pains and sweats I was advised by my local surgery to call 999, which I did at 8.32 am and the call handler was excellent and advised me on what to do myself whilst the ambulance was on route.
The ambulance arrived approximately 8.45 and I was well looked after by Chris and Chrissie from the Borders Ambulance service out of Kelso. Following their assessment they took me and my wife to Borders General Hospital.
After a short wait of about 5 mins in the ambulance whist it was assessed where I would be taken within A&E , I was wheeled straight in to the triage area where a lovely nurse named Susan greeted me and made me feel very comfortable whilst she did the observations etc.
I was then attended to by an excellent friendly doctor named Dr Dunmore. I could not fault his manner, his professionalism, his friendliness and he certainly put me at ease, at what was a very worrying time for myself and my wife.
Following his examination etc, we then spent approximately 1 hour in the waiting room whilst blood tests were analysed by the lab and then Dr Dunmore sat me and my wife down to give us the good news that it was not a cardiac incident and I was discharged less than 4 hours after originally calling 999.
There is nothing else to say except excellent service, well done everyone you all deserve medals (and a good pay rise).
"Excellent care from 999 call right through to discharge"
