I am lucky enough to rarely require a GP appointment so when I do it's for something that's very real and usually for symptom(s) which I have attempted to resolve myself - often for weeks.
However, yet again I have experienced an uncooperative response to get an appointment at North Glen Medical Practice when I called today.
I explained my symptoms, described how long I had had them and the attempts I had made to address the issue myself but to no avail - only offered an appointment for the next day when I explained I would be away from home.
Would it be at all possible for reception staff to look at patient notes and see how infrequently some ask for an appointment and therefore deduce from that that it's really needed?
I understand the average person visits their GP about 8 times a year - I haven't visited for close on two years but that seems to make no odds! Hoping the commitment to walk in GP services will come some - potentially life saving for some I guess.
