"All credit to this team!"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit (Alexandra Ward)

(as the patient),

I’ve been suffering from Cellulitis in my leg for several days and an initial course of antibiotics seemed ineffective so my GP sent me to my local hospital in Barnstaple. I was dreading the usual long waiting time plus the likelihood of a hospital stay, however on arrival after a brief triage I was sent to the Same Day Emergency Care unit. I cannot praise highly enough the care I received from this team. They were sympathetic, courteous and very efficient, and the doctor assigned to me, Dr Gregory carried out a thorough investigation including my medical history. As a result I was promptly prescribed a further course of treatment, and happliy sent home. I’m very pleased to say that after just one day my symptoms are rapidly improving and I feel well on the road to recovery. All credit to this team!
