"Great service"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Urgent Care Centre (Phone First)

(as a service user),

My appointment was at 3pm. I had injured my back and I was in pain and concerned that I may have damaged a disc or broken a bone. I have osteopenia which caused me to be frightened.

The doctor who dealt with me asked all the right questions, did a very thorough examination, explained everything that was happening with reasons, answered all my questions very patiently.  He prescribed cream, a pain killer and exercises all the time in a most reassuring manner. At no stage did I feel rushed or that I was asking silly questions.

I left reassured that I had not done major damage and felt that I knew how-to handle my recovery.

I'm sorry I don't remember the doctor's name.

The experience gives me confidence that solutions to our health crisis are being explored. For someone in my position it was great not to have to spend hours in a busy Emergency Department.

Thank you for taking the time to share such lovely feedback. I’m really glad to hear that you felt so well supported during your appointment, especially given how worried and uncomfortable you were with your back injury. It’s reassuring to know that the doctor’s explanations and gentle approach helped put your mind at ease and gave you confidence in your recovery plan. I will make sure your kind words are passed on to the clinician involved – they’ll really appreciate hearing this.

Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery,

Grainne
