My Dad was admitted to AMU for a second time having only left Musgrove the day before when he was discharged as medically fit enough for a local psychiatric hospital. They rejected him as not fit enough to be treated so he returned to Musgrove less than 24hrs after being discharged. This is diabolical. Once on AMU we didn’t have a visit from a doctor until the following day so he was left without fluids for 9hrs+, when we were informed previously at the psychiatric hospital that it was a very serious situation and he was very dehydrated with high sodium levels. He should have received medication and fluids as soon as he was admitted to AMU. He has missed medication since he was discharged from Musgrove. I’m completely shocked by the decision making and treatment of my Father while at Musgrove.
