I attended all my ante-natal appointments in Craigavon and throughout my journey I was assured I would be induced before 40 weeks but this was never booked. At 39+6 it was decided to see of daisy hill could accommodate the induction instead.
I spent 5 nights in daisy hill from the induction beginning and leaving with our baby girl. The midwives were incredible and yes we had a slight bump along the way in the induction process and frustration from my end with how long the process was taking but one thing for certain was the midwifes did everything to reassure us I was in the best possible place to give birth.
I was particularly amazed by one member of the midwife team. After a failed epidural and a few hours of pushing and I felt like I couldn't do anymore Emma-Jo gave the calm and assertive belief that I was naturally deliver my baby, it wasnt the most straightforward process as needing a narrower bed for stir-ups she remained calm and assertive like I've never seen before and with her help our daughter was born in two pushes.
It would be unfair of me to try single out who we met on the ante-natal and post natal ward as there was too many wonderful midwifes on hand over the few days and we wish we could thank each of you individually but we'd be afraid we'd miss someone!
I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to have their maternity care in Daisy Hill over Craigavon and should we be fortunate enough to be pregnant again we'd do our whole ante-natal journey in Daisy Hill.
"The midwives were incredible"
