"Everyone did those jobs to highest standards"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Delivery Suite Antrim Area Hospital / Theatres Antrim Area Hospital / Ward C2 Maternity care Mid-Ulster / Community Midwives

(as a service user),

I just wanted to say what excellent care I had under both Mid Ulster Hosptial midwives and consultants and surgical staff at Antrim Area Hospital.

I appreciated being able to have most of my antenatal care done in Mid Ulster as this meant less travel. Having previously had 3 babies in England I found the care here to be more person focused and less disjointed. The midwives were very caring and supportive.

I felt heard and listened to by consultants during my 4th pregnancy care. They discussed options with me and listened to concerns I had.

Finally the surgical team and midwives that cared for us during the c section and post operatively were all excellent. Everyone did those jobs to highest standards. They were well prepared for a potentially complicated birth but thankfully in the end it went smoothly.

I didn’t feel rushed out of the hospital afterwards but well taken care of until I was ready to leave.

Post community care was also excellent with midwives taking time to visit me at home due to c section rather than making me come to them. So many small details that made big differences to our experience.

Big thank you’s to all of you. Keep up the amazing work, we know it’s not an easy environment to work in, but you do it with care and kindness!
