"Most uncomfortable I've experienced"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I went to have a cataract removed. I didn't find it comfortable, the doctor was very rough and heavy handed.

I couldn't stop shaking, and the nurse put her hand on mine to reassure me which helped me a little, but I was so upset. I have had children and other procedures done in the past, and I have to say this is the most uncomfortable I've experienced. I wasn't right for a fortnight after.

I am due to have the other one done, and it is making me worry.

Dear marmn,

I am very sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable during your cataract procedure and I would like to know more about your experience.

If you would like to discuss further you can contact us by telephoning Gartnavel General Hospital and asking for the Lead Nurse for Ophthalmology.

Kind regards,

Liza Campbell
