We are long term users of the RHCYP lochranza ward. My son has been in treatment for over 5 years and we love all the staff and how they care for us, not just him but the whole family.
Particularly now he is in full remission mention needs to be made of Conor, the TCT worker on the ward.
He provides a really positive point of contact for our son, allowing him to access activities and social settings he wouldn't normally want to go to (my son has autism and ADHD as well as having twice had leukemia) and this is really important as it allows my son to associate with other young people who have shared experiences of cancer treatment and the challenges they face even when treatment is over.
Between the monthly pizza nights and the activities that are organized in the community it creates a really positive situation to support my son to manage the situation he is in post treatment.
"We love all the staff and how they care for us"
