"An amazing birth at the birth centre"

I was lucky enough to experience the most amazing birth at the birth centre with my third child.  I went in to get my waters broken and thought I might end up with a more medicalised birth and be out through to the hospital, however thanks to the support and care of the excellent midwives there as well as the facilities of the birth centre, I was able to have an unmediated physiological birth and the most tremendous experience. Between the large space for movement, lights and aromatherapy, if you could cherry pick your perfect birth, this would have been it.  I’ll always be so grateful after two less than straightforward births to have finally experienced the birth I couldn’t even have dreamed of. The whole experience has made my recovery so much easier.    I hope the trust invests a lot more into the birth centre and this sort of option so that other women are able to experience this.
