"Outstanding care, compassion and good humour"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Day surgery Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Medical Imaging Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Pre-operative assessment

(as the patient),

I recently attended the Radiology department for a Microwave Ablation of my liver under the care of Consultant RS Virdi. From the time of my pre-op assessment Dr Virdi has been outstanding in explaining every step of the procedure and what to expect post op.

The Radiology team post op were very kind and considerate and prior to the procedure the anaesthetist (sorry I cannot remember the gentleman's name) and nurses were excellent.

After the procedure the nurse who sat with me for the hour or so in recovery was very reassuring and then when I moved to Yeo ward the nurses were brilliant.

I do have to single out however Dr Virdi who came to see me after the procedure and again before my discharge for his outstanding care, compassion and good humour which gave me reassurance and what to expect pain wide on my return home.

Thank you all so much

Dear extonred,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such wonderful feedback about your recent experience in our Radiology department. We’re delighted to hear that you felt well cared for and reassured throughout your procedure.

Your kind words about Dr Virdi, the anaesthetist, nurses, and the wider Radiology and Yeo Ward teams mean a great deal to us. It’s our goal to ensure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and supported at every stage of their care, and it’s lovely to know this was reflected in your experience.

We’ll be sure to pass on your appreciation to Dr Virdi and all the staff involved in your treatment—they will be very pleased to know their efforts made such a positive difference.

We wish you the very best with your continued recovery and thank you again for your thoughtful message.

Kind Regards

Liz Chapman, Operations Manager
