Dear sirs, yesterday I went to Good Hope for a pre op. I was very distressed at the way I was treated. I went for an ECG, was called by a young male who called my name..and immediately turned his back on me.. No good morning or please come this way.
He had to manipulate my left breast ( I am 73), and he was so rough it brought tears to my eyes, and had to offer to do it myself. I then went for blood, went to a kiosk and was told....blood over there....a patient told me to get a ticket, and then had to ask again where to go when my number came up. Repeat at another desk......blood over there.
I really think that it is not the NHS that is at fault but the employees. I go for my op on Friday and yes I am nervous, I do hope that I will get kinder and more compassionate treatment.
** Update**
Having complained previously about treatment I had in the treatment centre and having my concern about going in for my op yesterday, I have to say without exception, from the students up to the consultant surgeon, their treatment of me was without any criticism at all.
They were lovely with me. My thanks.......but please do something with the others in the treatment centre.
