"Experience of undergoing a Mohs procedure"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Mid September, I had a Mohs Excision of a BCC followed by 'repair'. The procedure was carried out by Dr Acheson, supported by his team, at the Dermatology Day Case Unit, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. My experience was totally positive. From the very start I was treated like an intelligent adult and kept fully informed at every stage. The procedure and subsequent repair were carried out very skilfully - which has become even more apparent as the wound site heals and settles down (I am writing this nearly four weeks after the procedure was carried out).

I want to thank Dr Acheson and the whole team for their excellent work and for the supportive and informative manner in which they treated me. I was also happy, as a former university professor, that a medical student watched the procedure and thus added to his learning.
