"Ignorant staff and long waiting times in Altnagelvin"

My daughter who’s 3 fell and had a head injury, not eating, eyes went bruised etc 

Kids waiting department was full of men, which made it uncomfortable for me to sit with my child.

Waiting times was awful, when I asked receptionist what the wait time was they told me and I asked was kids or anyone with head injuries not prioritised at all and they said was everyone’s on the same boat you're not above anybody so just wait.

They wouldn’t remove the men to the normal waiting area, from the kids area. My child’s autistic and I explained that this was upsetting for her. So I told them  I would take her home and ring minor injury to see if they could see her or GP in the morning. They proceeded to tell me I was selfish, not thinking of my child and a lot of rude things.

We had to leave and drive to a hospital 40 minutes away for treatment as this is the care we received in a hospital 2 minutes from our home. 

Awful care, awful staff. Disgraceful.
