"I was getting quite frustrated"

About: Maternity care / Midwives Raigmore Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I got to triage and was sat waiting for 3.5 hours. I was told to come due to reduced movements and pain after losing my mucus plug. I wasn’t even acknowledged or reassured in this time until handover.

I was getting quite frustrated and I was so close to just getting up and leaving, not knowing there was a possibility that I was in labour, until I was put on the monitor and was having contractions, which then led to an examination to confirm I wasn’t in labour.

I cannot fault the midwife Zoe who took good care of me at handover, she was amazing with me and I can’t thank her enough. She went above and beyond for me.
