"Felt well cared for throughout the admission"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre

(as a service user),

I had a hip replacement at the National Treatment Centre, Victoria Hospital in August and would like to thank everyone involved from the initial consultation, surgery to planned discharge.

All the  staff I encountered from my initial outpatient appointment, pre-assessment team, admissions team, Gavin and anaesthetic team, Mr Ballantyne and surgical team, ward staff, physio and OT, put me at ease, listened to me and answered any questions and kept me informed at every stage. I felt well cared for throughout the admission, all staff were friendly, informative, caring, encouraging, nothing was too much trouble.

Mr Ballantyne explained in detail of the procedure and the  pros and cons at the initial consultation.  I had no concerns about the procedure.

I was recently discharged and will continue with the physio advice to ensure my recovery progresses to get the best out of my hip replacement, which has changed my life, already.

Again, a big thank you to all of you.  The National Treatment Centre is an amazing service.

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at the National Treatment Centre. All patient feedback is important to our team, as we use this information to reflect on current practices and make improvements to service delivery.

The National Treatment Centre ward aims to maintain good communication with patients. This is to ensure care is person centred, to help each individual reach their full potential. Therefore, it is rewarding to know that throughout your journey you were met with healthcare professionals that actively listened to your concerns, tried to provide reassurance and kept you informed throughout.

I am pleased to know that you found staff to be friendly, caring and encouraging. We hope as a team every patient feels valued and respected. Therefore, I am pleased you had a positive experience.

I will pass on your kind words to Mr Ballantyne and the NTC team and I am sure they will be delighted with this feedback.

I wish you all the best with your future recovery, following your hip replacement.

Take care and thank you,

Briony Klos
