The ambulance crew were helpful, respectful and good. They assessed I needed to go to a &E.
I arrived in A&E and was given a single room where other assessments were made. All the staff there were very professional, very good and very kind.
I was then moved to ward 14 then quickly transferred to ward 6. My welcome on the ward was phenomenal. One nurse was passing when I was on the trolley and turned round and said "Welcome to ward 6" with a big smile. She set the tone for the whole ward. It's wee things like that that make all the difference. The staff were exceptional. All the team worked well together and showed each other respect. I can't remember everyones names but a few I was able to write down include: Tola, Hugh, Karen, Sylvia, Suzanne, Dr Higgins, Amanda, Dan, Fiona, Abby, Pauline, Harry, John, Comfort, Grace and Theresa. There's a whole lot more, these are some of the team I met in one day. They all had my and all the patients interests at the centre of their care. Everyone showed great care for everybody.
The goodness the staff showed particularly when caring for 2 patients who were very distressed brought tears to my eyes.
Two staff members would sing to the patients. One sang to a patient who had not been communicating and when she heard her sing she opened her eyes and sang with the nurse.
When the song was finished she asked the nurse to repeat it!
The care for all the patients was superlative.
"Everyone showed great care for everybody"
