"The outstanding and compassionate care of my daughter"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Paediatrics / Paediatric Outpatients

(as a parent/guardian),

My teenage daughter recently collapsed at a sporting event and was unconscious for over an hour & a half.

There are two parts to this feedback, initially I would like praise to go to the Doctor in A&E, I will follow that up separately.

Secondly, after several more collapses she was seen in the Paediatric Outpateints. From the very outset of booking an appointment all of the team were fantastic, compassionate, caring and professional.

She was made to feel at ease and cared for from the very start, taking initial observations, the two nurses were excellent, treating her with a warm manner to help her all the way, please ensure they are recognised for this.

We then spent an outstanding with the Consultant, Dr Bharmappanavara. Throughout the entire consultation he was compassionate, caring with a most excellent bedside manner, absolutely reassuring a worried young lady and was consummate professional throughout. He was patient with us, answered lots of questions without hesitation and is a most fantastic representation of Musgrove Park Hospital.

Dear zuludr67,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience via care opinion following your daughter’s recent visit to hospital. We are very sorry to hear about the distressing circumstances that brought her in, and we hope she’s now feeling much better.

We are so grateful for your kind words about the Paediatric Outpatients team. We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team here on Paediatrics, It’s lovely to hear that you felt supported and cared for. We’ll make sure your lovely words are passed on to the nurses and Dr Bharmappanavara who helped put your daughter at ease and the wider team.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your story. Wishing your daughter all the very best in her recovery.

Kind regards,
Angela Giles
