I had a planned c section in the BGH recently. It was my third birth but first elective section. I was very nervous. But what a team looked after me! I am terrible with names but a stand out for me was the anaesthetist. She was exactly what a nervous patient needed. Calm, professional and caring. The section took a bit longer due to scaring from previous emergency section and big baby who needed a bit of TLC when he came out and even though I was aware things were trickier I didn’t panic and it was down to the team they were truly fantastic. Lots of lovely faces before, during and after the operation.
The anaesthetist kept me updated throughout on top of making sure I was well medicated and not feeling sick etc she was also explaining to me every step of the way. So grateful to her for this. My surgeon was amazing too and I’m so grateful she delivered my beautiful boy safely. The midwives were fantastic too. I had a lovely midwife with me right through the day and then over night another lovely midwife. My experience was a 10/10. Thank you all.
