"First time surgery experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / West of Scotland Major Trauma Ward (ward 1c)

(as the patient),

A very positive experience at the QEUH following a sudden foot operation. Every member of staff that I encountered were an absolute dream and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. The surgical team were phenomenal! I was kept well informed at each step of the way and was given so much reassurance given how nervous I was.

The porters who were wheeling me around were fab and would chat away to keep me calm even during the early hours of the morning. The nurses were constantly checking in on me and provided high quality care at all times whilst managing my pain relief when I needed it the most. The physios were very helpful and understanding, making me feel confident about manoeuvring around at home. Shout out to Immy from catering was a friendly face to see throughout the day and provided well presented meals! With the NHS under immense scrutiny in the media, I am pleased to say that my stay at the QEUH was incredible and everything was so seamless from my admission to my discharge<3

Dear emmzo2001

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback. It really is appreciated.

I shall be sure to let Immy from the catering team know of your kind words, and I'm glad the porters kept your spirits up whilst they were transporting you around. They are a fab bunch!

I hope you continue to recover well at home.
