"Great Paramedics"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

GP requested hospital transport at 1pm.  At 9pm things had got worse so contacted 999 and they allocated an ambulance immediately that arrived shortly thereafter.  There was confusion over where I thought I was going and where the paramedics had been told, so refused to go to Western as it was the Royal Infirmary my care is done.

Ambulance crew made contact with their controllers and Infirmary which said no to accepting as too busy.  Paramedics then called local duty doctors that amended their instructions to take to Royal Infirmary.  Paramedics were fantastic in their compassion and care.

Hi BigYin81,

Thanks for getting in touch to share your experience and particularly for your kind words about our staff at the Scottish Ambulance Service. Our staff always really appreciate when patients get in touch to say thank you.

I hope you're feeling a bit better now and continue to recover.

Thanks again,

Mark
