I thought I was doing everything right, but turns out regardless of that you can still have a heart attack. I was going to the gym 3 times a week, walking on average 8 to 10 thousand steps a day, never smoked, etc. and bang in march 2025 heart attack.
I was taken to the QEUH for 9 days and the staff were great, thank you for the NHS. Then, onto the Golden Jubilee where I had two stents fitted to my LAD, one of the arteries feeding the heart. In and out same day. ✅.
From that, after a few weeks I was called to the cardiology gym where I was introduced to the rehab team. What they have done for me in 10 weeks is nothing short of a miracle they have brought me back to a better level of fitness since the event. Gave me my confidence back and a much better understanding of what happened to me and my journey going forward in the future. The rehab staff are just fantastic, very knowledgeable and supportive.
This is a wonderful service that the NHS support and supply, it’s fabulous. I would personally like to thank the following staff who have helped me and that is Theresa, Craig, Lie, Helen, Myra, and all the rest of the staff behind the scenes. They are the people who make this possible to be the success it is. Thank you all.
