"Your kindness will never be forgotten"

About: Maternity Care / AMU (Alongside Midwifery Unit) Maternity Care / Maternity Triage University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care

(as the patient),

Following the devastating experience of losing our baby and the traumatic events that surrounded it, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire maternity team for the exceptional care and compassion we received.

From the moment we arrived, the midwives and bereavement midwives showed an incredible level of kindness, empathy, and professionalism. They provided not only outstanding clinical care but also genuine emotional support — for both myself and my family. Their sensitivity in such a painful time made an unbearable situation a little more manageable.

The surgeons and doctors involved in my care were equally remarkable. They explained everything clearly, treated me with dignity and respect, and ensured I felt safe and supported at every stage. Their compassion extended beyond medical treatment — they truly cared for me as a person.

Even after leaving the hospital, the continued support and understanding from the team have meant so much. I will always be grateful for the care, compassion, and humanity shown to us during such a difficult time.

Thank you to all the staff who went above and beyond — your kindness will never be forgotten.

Dear LN76

Thank you for taking the time to send us your views.

Firstly I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious baby. There are no words we can give that make that any easier. I am glad to hear you had excellent care and the midwives and medical staff looking after you cared for you and your family with kindness and compassion.

Situations like this are terrible for any woman to go through, but if the care the team provided made the situation just a little bit easier for you, then I hope that brings some comfort.

Thank you again for getting in touch

Take care
