"Made the procedure a lot less daunting for me"

About: Maternity care / Maternity and Gynaecology outpatient clinics

(as a service user),

I attended an appt for a smear in Craigavon Hospital Maternity Outpatients yesterday. The nurse that performed the procedure was called Charlotte and she was absolutely fantastic. Charlotte put me at ease immediately and made the procedure a lot less daunting for me. I was extremely surprised when Charlotte informed me before I left that that was her first clinic after her training, I would have thought by her professionalism and lovely gentle way that she had been running that clinic for a long time.  Thank you Charlotte, you are an exceptional nurse 👏

Thank you for taking the time to send Charlotte such lovely feedback. She has been a nurse for many years and has been training for the past 6 months to gain experience in performing smear tests. As you rightly say, this was her first solo clinic and I'm glad it went so well. I'm pleased she was able to reassure you and put you at ease through the process as this is such a large part of the process.
