"Excellent patient centred care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

We attended A&E Friday early October to be assessed as my partner was experiencing chest pain, thankfully all ok. Originally we were triaged around 3pm, I can't remember the name of the HCSW and Nurse who triaged but they displayed excellent care and compassion towards my partner as he was quite obviously anxious at the time, they reassured him and explained everything they were doing.

We were then seen by Dr Danny and a Nurse Mary in the department later in the evening and again the care and compassion from both these professionals was outstanding. Danny was thorough and very professional making sure all concerns were voiced and acted upon. Mary was an absolute credit to the department. Not only was she compassionate and helpful she also displayed such a calming reassuring nature and really made us feel so comfortable whilst in the department.

We are so thankful to all the staff in the department, including reception staff, porters and HCSWs, despite immense pressure they remained professional and delivered excellent patient centred care.

Dear mc12345,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your visit to our Emergency Department earlier this month. I’m truly pleased to hear that your partner is doing well and that the care provided helped ease what must have been a very anxious time.

Your kind words about our team — including Dr. Danny, Nurse Mary, our triage staff, receptionists, porters, and HCSWs — mean a great deal. We’re incredibly proud of the compassion and professionalism our staff show every day, especially under the pressures that come with working in a busy emergency setting.

I’ll make sure your feedback is passed on to everyone involved in your partner’s care. It will be a real boost to them to know the difference they made to you both.

Wishing you and your partner continued good health.

Best wishes,

Julie.
