"The staff were friendly, caring and professional"

About: Victoria Hospital / Clincal Oncology

(as a service user),

Fantastic service at the Oncology Day Unit in Victoria Hospital. The staff were friendly, caring and professional.  They kept the mood light during what can be very difficult treatment and they helped me feel less nervous. I felt comfortable to talk to them and ask for advice. Amazing team that helped me get through a very scary experience.

Dear Anon101,

My name is Murdina MacDonald, I am the Lead Cancer Nurse. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

It’s truly moving to hear how the team in the Oncology Day Unit helped you through what was clearly a very frightening and uncertain time. The way you describe their friendliness, professionalism, and ability to keep the mood light speaks volumes about the kind of care they provide not just clinical, but deeply human.

Feeling nervous before treatment is something many people can relate to, and it takes a special kind of team to create an environment where you feel safe enough to ask questions, seek advice, and simply be yourself. That sense of comfort and connection can make all the difference.

I’m so glad you felt supported not just in body, but in spirit. It’s clear that this amazing team didn’t just deliver treatment; they walked alongside you, helping to carry some of the emotional weight that comes with it.

Wishing you continued strength and gentler days ahead.

Warm Regards

Murdina
