I was in hospital for really long time and during that time, I met some amazing people. Actually all of them were amazing but some stand out! Some people would walk in my room and my face would light up. Carla, Meegan and Rebecca at specialist rehabilitation unit were some of the people that would make my day better.
A moment that stood out with Carla was when I broke my hip. Carla held my hand throughout the long wait for the ambulance. Then she held my hand in the ambulance and into the hospital right up to the moment she could safely pass me onto the doctors and my mum. She then went back to my room, tidied it and packed me a bag with all the things she knew I would want. She definitely knew me well enough by that point to pack my skincare essentials.
Meegan knew I was struggling at some points in my rehabilitation journey and went out her way to do a spa night with Lyndsey and provide me with a distraction from the negative thoughts. She even gave me a special book with motivational quotes.
Rebecca would lighten my mood with TikTok dances and hugs.
Now that I am home, I have had plenty of time to reflect and I want to thank everyone that got me to this point. I am happy to say that my long long hospital journey was mostly a happy time.
