My husband was sent to CAU by GP with a possible DVT This was obviously very concerning for both of us. We were greeted by a lovely young man at reception. The triage nurse was fantastic. She explained what would happen. We then saw Alan the ANP. He was very informative and treated my husband (who is registered blind) with dignity and respect. He explained what would happen once the blood results were back. My husband was given pain medication and we were offered lunch. The young staff nurse in the unit made sure everyone was okay. The unit appeared calm and I witnessed great patient interaction. As a retired nurse I was delighted to see this level of care. Fantastic work from all.
